PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Metfin AD11 is an amine based inhibitor for use in Hydrochloric acid pickling solutions. Its use permits the removal of rust and mill scale with minimal attack on the steel substrate. This has two advantages, it results in a more even surface and it slows down the build up of iron, extending the life of the solution.
Metfin AD11 does not inhibit attack on aluminium, magnesium and zinc.
It is advisable to avoid using Metfin AD11 (due to the generation of a foam blanket) in strong acid pickling solutions, where the stripping of quantities of Zinc coated parts and / or jigs are likely to take place.

Extends acid life. Results in a more even surface. Economic - used at low concentrations. Liquid product makes additions easier. Very stable in hydrochloric acid.
PROPERTIES
Appearance : Brown liquid Odor : Sweet, solvent Specific Gravity 1.00 pH : 5 to 7 (assumes pH of acid in use)
TYPICAL OPERATING PARAMETERS
Concentration : 0.1% to 0.2% v/v
Added to the hydrochloric acid during initial make up. Maintenance additions during the life of the acid are not usually required.
EQUIPMENT
Added to existing acid tank.
STORAGE AND HANDLING
Store in cool, dry conditions and keep containers closed when not in use. Wash hands after handling containers.
